working ok for me. have u tried restarting just to see if a quick fix is the solution?
yeah i restarted already
every time i click on it there is no apps and it closes quickly
Try troubleshoot under update & security on windows
Might detect something easy
it says fixed after i did a run but its still the same, i saw this aswell
do a system file check
Right click the windows logo and click Terminal admin then type this
sfc /scannow
:tada: Congrats @cerulean compass, you levelled up to 2! :tada:
search bar still not working?
yeah its still the same
any other way i can fix it or we just gave up
Can you send a screenshot of what you’re actually seeing
Might help us find a solution
If not I would suggest reinstalling windows entirely as it’s clearly having a moment and doesn’t want to fix itself. Bit unusual for windows
once in a while it gets a blue loading circle in the middle and some code on the bottom right
I think a re installation is probably your best bet. Obviously windows isn’t your biggest fan today!
@grave mantle do we have a command for re installation of windows, or just windows 11 installation tag will do it?
is there a way to save my files if i reinstall or i will lose everything?
A clean reinstall will delete everything so I’d create a backup or a cloud drive for anything essential
I know it’s a pain. But windows sometimes does this
Let Harry take a look. He’s a bit of a whizz with this stuff so may have a solution
As far as my knowledge goes, I’d go for a re installation
@cerulean compass You could give an in place upgrade a try
If you are upgrading from Windows 10, you may need to enable TPM and Secure Boot in order to proceed with the Windows 11 installation - please follow the TPM & Secure Boot guide below first.
:warning: When reinstalling Windows, you will lose any files which are not backed up to the cloud or an external drive - please ensure any files you would like to keep are backed up before continuing.
:one: Click the button below and download the 'Create Windows 11 Installation Media' tool.
:two: Follow through the installation tool, and choose 'USB flash drive' when prompted. Your USB flash drive must be 8GB or greater.
:three: Once the tool has finished, shut down the PC you're installing Windows on and insert the USB drive.
:four: Next, repeatedly press the following key while your PC is turning on, depending on your motherboard:
ASUS/ROG: F8
Aorus/Gigabyte: F12
MSI/ASRock/Cyberpower: F11
Then choose your USB drive from the list to boot from it.
:five: Follow through the installation tool. When it asks for your product key, click Skip - your PC will automatically reactivate. Make sure to select the same Windows version as you ordered with your PC, then choose a Custom installation.
:six: Select the drive in which you would like to install Windows on (you will want to install Windows on your SSD, this is typically a smaller drive), delete any partitions which already exist and then select Drive # Unallocated Space, and click Next.
:seven: Once your PC restarts, you will be taken to the first-time setup screen, where you can setup your user account and preferences.
