let me try and explain. when i boot up my pc, after 15/20 minuites guaranteed every usb device apart from my keyboard (razer huntsman tournament edition) disconnect and reconnects a couple times. I have to unplug one of my usb devices and reconnect it to fix the issue. Its not annoying, but when im in the middle of a game its really frustrating.

so far i have tried - turning off USB selective suspend setting in power options on control panel
- uninstalling and reinstalling all usb drivers
- unplugging every device except my mouse and headset
- moving every usb to a different USB slot on the back of the pc
What motherboard do you have
msi pro b550 gen 3 i think
razer headset usb (blackshark v2), razer huntsman te, razer dock and the wireless dongle plugged on the dock, usb mic (fifine k669b), 500gb external hard drive
:tada: Congrats @steep inlet, you levelled up to 6! :tada:
i had no problems with all this on my old pc
Remove the External drive. This sounds to me a USB limitation. As all the bandwidth hungry devices are using all the bandwidth and thats why they disconnect
ive tried that it still does it with it disconnected
like i did a boot without it pluigged in and it still did it after 15/20 mins
Check inside the ports you may have got a bent pin
And inside the USB ends on your devices as well. If any of them don't have that plastic protector inside that will cause problems
just looked at all the one plugged in and i dont see any issues
all the razer stuff has a very obvious razer plastic and the pc ports have a blue plastic and no bent pins or anything like that
my theory though is that its somehow my keyboard because its the ONLY thing that stays on when everything disconects
update- i just tried playing a game and now everything disconnected but didnt reconnect
i had unplug and replug manually
but a few usb ports weren't working but restart fixed it
I would try with just your keyboard and mouse plugged in, leave it for a bit and see if you still get the same issue, then slowly add things back in and see if its specific ports/peripherals/the total number of devices plugged in which is causing it
@subtle girderIve had no problems for the past few days after restarting my device with the hard drive unplugged. Sucks I can't use it for extra storage but at least its fixed
That would have been because of the bandwidth limitation i mentioned. The External drive using all the bandwidth
man that sucks. I have a 1tb m.2 ssd but I record a lot of videos and I was using my hard drive for my recordings.
might have to get an internal 2.5" ssd in the future
thanks for your help anyway
Or just transfer the data when you're not using your mouse and keyboard.
yeah but the issue is it happens even after i unplug the hard drive
