Hey guys. Ive had my PC build for over 3 years. My puppy pushed it today and suddenly it slowed down a lot. When i turned it on it started beeping so i removed the ram (2x8gb) and reinserted it. The liquid cooling also made some noises but thats fine now when i took it out and reattached it. The thing is that it loads really slow and most of my games play at 30fps max. The gpu is not a peoblem not even loaded on over 5%, but the ram is always 7-8/16gb even if i have nothing opened. Should i change my ram then?

You mentioned your PC beeping, could you be a little more specific and tell us what the beeps were? Like how many times and if they were long or short beeps?
@lime thicket thanks for replying. There were 3-4 short beeps
After that the control panel processes showed only 8gb of ram. When i took out and reattached it it went back to 16 and there werent any beepings. But the PC is super slow loading thinfs
Ok, and is it anything specific or just everything in general
Okay, and you said your puppy knocked it? How badly? like a small knock or fully knocked over?
Well fully knocked over haha. Well it just turned around but its a laminate flooring so..
:tada: Congrats @wind coral, you levelled up to 1! :tada:
I reattsched the gpu and ram, but i think it might actually be the ssd? Even games loading screens load so slow
Is there any way for me to check if its the GPU?
Do you know if you have an SSD or a mechanical HDD?
Ssd
Ok, you could start by testing your drives with HDTune
Its really weird. I play wow and i usually have no issues, but the loading screen of the game takes ages. The whole battlenet app also takes ages to load. When i monitor the performance on the task manager the gpu stays at 10-12% and the ram is 5-6-7/16
So its not like the gpu is struggling but i am getting low fps from loading stuff
If things are loading slowly, whilst it's not impossible, it's unlikely it's the GPU
What should i be looking at?
head over to error scan, and scan each of your drives
You can open multiple instances and scan multiple drives at once so you don't have to do 1 at a time
Don't do quick scan, and then post the screenshots in here, if anything goes red, you can stop the scan and just post it
the ssd looks fine the hdd is not ready yet
so i take it its not the discs... weird
its funny i just tried a FurMark stress test for my gpuand i get a constant 80-90 fps
:tada: Congrats @wind coral, you levelled up to 2! :tada:
Furmark isn't a stress test, it's a stability test
yeah but still it seems to be working fine
then i clicked ctrl alt and del and the fps dropped to 40
You're getting your PC to do more things, so things are being spread across multiple tasks, it could still be drives or even ram, but wait for your other drives to finish, then let me know and I can give you the link for a test for your Ram
yeah i have only 2
1 ssd and 1 hdd
the hdd is 1/3 finished
my windows is on the ssd tho so
No worries, lets wait for that first, then I'll link the next test
Windows being on the SSD won't matter, if you HDD is the problem, then it will cause a problem with anything that's on it
your*
No worries, just let me know when it's done
Could it be windows as well? I havent reinstalled it since i got my pc like almost 4 years ago
It could be, seems a little coincidental if it is, but if nothing comes up from these tests, then it's worth a shot
Download this and run the Ram test
Ram test only, and make sure your PC is not doing anything in the background
I've just linked it above
the cooling system is making weird noises could this have something to do with it?
its just a coolermaster 120
the fan is working though
That won't be causing your PC to be slow, unless your CPU is over heating
its weird how i was getting 80-90 fps on furmark and then only 20 ingame
idk what the fk happened 😄
ok on occt what do I run?
The ram test
memory and then ? set it to 100%?
:tada: Congrats @wind coral, you levelled up to 3! :tada:
Memory and leave everything as it is
just press start
cpu went up to 100%
and PC def slowed down even typing this
Yeah temp went to 100 and we overheated 😄
5 mins in
Pc even slower now
May be an overheating problem due to a faulty cooler then, contact tech support on monday and let them know

would this slow the whole PC?
If it's over heating, then yes, CPU is one of the most important parts
Yeah, definitely a problem then, contact tech on monday, or send them an email now and they will respond on monday as soon as they can
