Hi, would anyone be able to help me with a pc issue? I’ve just started it up and got a long beep, and 2 short beeps with no display.

My first go to is check your HDMI / DP is plugged into the GPU and not the motherboard

Monitor Cables

If you have a discrete GPU then you need to plug your monitor cable into the graphics card, not the motherboard. This can be found on the Quick Start Guide which was emailed to you, or you can download it with the /tag guide command.

You want it plugged in 2b

neat falcon

I had my hdmi plugged into that yes

Okay, how many RAM sticks do you have 2 or 4?

neat falcon
#

2

dense moat
#

Could you try remove the RAM stick on the right (there are clips on the top and/or bottom of the slot you need to push down to let you take it out)

neat falcon
#

The one closest to the 3 fans?

dense moat
#

Also, do any of the lights top right stay on when you try to boot

#

And yes

neat falcon
#

I didn’t see. I have the wires taken out currently

dense moat
#

Oh okay cool no problem

#

The 2 things I’d suggest is reseating GPU and testing RAM out one by one

#

GPU - unscrew the bracket screw where it’s below the single rear exhaust fan, then push the clip towards motherboard on the place where the GPU plugs into the motherboard, then it should come out with a little pull

I don’t think the bottom tab on the ram moves

#

Top one moved but the bottom one isn’t

#

Do I just pull it towards me now?

#

Never mind I got it out

cprgbglitch :tada: Congrats @neat falcon, you levelled up to 4! :tada: cprgbglitch

I’ll try turn it on now

#

The third light was on but turned off. I still have the beep issue.
Fans are all spinning
I should try the other ram now?

#

Tried both ram sticks

#

Still beeping

dense moat
#

And no lights are on?

#

This is bizarre

I sent a video

Ok try this

Resetting CMOS

:one: Shut down your PC and unplug the power cord from the wall.
:two: Locate the CMOS battery (see the image below). On some motherboards, you may have to remove the graphics card in order to access it.
:three: Remove the CMOS battery from the motherboard by pressing down on the clip and pulling the battery out.
:four: Hold down the case power button for three seconds while your PC is unplugged.
:five: Install the CMOS battery back into the motherboard and plug the power cord back into the wall.
:six: Plug in and turn on your PC.

A video guide is also available below

It’s the holy grail of fixing things we don’t understand sometimes

neat falcon
#

This correct?

dense moat
#

That’s the one

neat falcon
#

Start up no beep. Display is back up and now I have this screen

#

Should I press enter?

dense moat
#

F2 I guess

#

We’ll have to go into BIOS and enable your ram speeds to max out

#

If you wanna do setup go F1

#

If you wanna make sure you can get into windows etc hit F2 and do BIOS stuff later

neat falcon
#

If I press f2 I can go back to how the pc was like normal and not do any tech stuff? I don’t understand what bios is

dense moat
#

BIOS is just your motherboard settings, easy stuff really don’t worry. f2 will load default values and then boot into the OS

#

F1 will just do normal PC setup, so either is fine. Enabling TPM / XMP stuff in BIOS, usually just a few clicks and we can walk you through it anyway

neat falcon
#

None of my data will be lost tho right?

#

Sorry I had to plug everything back into pc

#

I pressed f1

#

Can I close this?

#

Seems to be fine now, I assume it’ll be ok so thanks for the help
