did you change anything or is this just from a fresh boot?
I mean did you change anything in your PC like ram, fans or boot drives
Changed fans, which arw now connected to headers which they weren't before. Also changed PSU but it turned on fine when I did a first check after putting in the PSU
F1 to run setup, then you'd have to configure your fans, assuming they're PWM etc
I believe Dave was running it through before you don't have 4 pin fans right, Only a 3 pin
I have 4 pin splitters which have 3 'branches', 1 of the branches has a 4 pin, the rest are 3 pin
Assuming you just want to let the BIOS do everything automatically and set the fan curve for you. You may just be able to boot up...
Press F10 and save and exit
Does it look alright in terms of setup? I do some intensive stuff with work like rendering 3D models in sketchup
Assuming they're on a temperature curve which ASUS bios's usually set. They should ramp up with temperature,
usually the temp curve is set in accordance with CPU temps
You can manually set a curve in the bios but its a trial and error until you find a curve for the fans you like
Generally i find a constant speed is much easier to ignore, rather than a up and down fan ramp
Am I better off downloading something like smart fan?
The BIOS stuff is a bit beyond me
If you're fans aren't controllable because they're 3 pin that won't really help you...
Dave and Harry suggested a PWM Hub before... I personally use a commander core which is quite a bit more pricey but allows control of every single fan connected independently...
Might be a shout, speedfan doesn't detect any fans, even the 4 pin ones?
your motheboard may not support it, I know ASUS boards can be fussy sometimes,
Would that be the case with the commander also?
Commander no, Because i'm using mine on an ASUS board. All the commander uses is a Internal USB header to the motherboard and allows software control through icue
but requires the fans you're plugging into the commander unit to be PWM
Sounds like a plan, cheers! Everything seems to be working but I've just noticed this cable isn't connected, not sure where it came from?
Nevermind, spotted it!
They're all 4 pin
They all have the PWM pin, its just the tach pin is only on 1 of them because you can only get a RPM readout from one of the fans on a single header
I would head into QFan Control and just make sure that both the CHA FAN headers are in PWM mode - did you also plug one of the fans into the CPU fan header too?
I had to plug one of the splitters into the CPU header because there wasn't enough room to get both splitters through the back
I have discovered that asus' AI suite controls the fans fairly well
Yeah AI suite will also do the job
