Floating Skill

I'm trying to make a skill where the character floats into the air when it's used, but my current method looks very laggy/jittery.
In other Roblox games like TSB or JJS, are they usually making the floating effect using the animation itself?
Or are they moving the character separately with scripts while the animation plays?

Depends. If you can change altitude via input then its probably not only an animation. But if its just like an emote where you just hover then making the character float using just the animation should be fine.
