Need help learning scripting

hi there, i was wondering if anyone would be down to teach me scripting or has any tips on how to get started. i’ve had a little experience with java from school and a bit of python as well, so i understand some of the basics like variables and simple logic, but i still feel pretty lost overall. i’d really like to fully get into programming and learn it properly, not just for school but as a real skill. any advice on what to learn first, good resources, or even just general tips would be really appreciated. i’m motivated to learn, i just need a bit of direction on where to start and how to stay consistent. I apologize in advance if I've used the wrong channel, i was unsure if it was this one

I suggest you watch Youtube Tutorials and recreate the things explained in the tutorials. I recommend BrawlDevs Series. And you probably can skip a few videos if you already know the basics. Python and Lua are similar so i think you'll learn fast.

Read through the scripting section on roblox docs (they have a beginner version asw) and once you read that then watch videos ig but you will get a good idea where to continue with your journey with roblox game dev after reading the docs

after that make some simple games

can be as simple as pressing a button and spawning a part

the best way is to use ai to teach you the basics

for example asking it "what does this line of code do" or just asking it how you make something and explain how everything works (dont ctrl c + ctrl v obv)
