#how to make roblox studio change rig position AFTER not before a keyframe in animator?

by default it seems to switch INSTANTLY to the next upcoming keyframe

What i want is for the previous key to hold its position until the next keyframe plays, i am assuming i would accomplish this through the curve editor? But i cant seem to figure out how to effectively do that, I also am not very familiar to using with curve animators in 3d animation

you can see in the videos below how it is an issue when using constant easing, and the way it forces you to redundantly use duplicated frames in order for it to actually show

i found this when trying to search about this issue online and am curious about it, how do i add empty keyframes? i tried adding a keyframe on my timeline but it just seems to completely mess up the pose of my character

wait, could easing direction perhaps be the answer??

from what i have experienced from this program so far i assumed it surely could not be this simple and would have a really stupid and convoluted workaround
