This isnt entirely a scripting thing but I am trying to use a custom idle animation when I hold out a sword, and roblox premade animations work, but my custom ones just dont for some reason, the only answer ive gotten is from the dumb AI who keeps saying the animation ID is to long
#Animation ID to long???
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
any error?
well the animation id is too long, you sure u copied the right one?
yeah, none of the animations ive made have had a shorter ID
the id is wrong
its the one that I copied from the screen right after publishing the animation
well try publishing it again
oh well then, why didn't you say so
the id must be correct then
it must be something else.
the error saying the id is wrong, it's just making things up. it's clearly hallucinating. you got the id right the first time obviously
its 16 digits
doesn't matter, according to @tough wave the id is valid, therefore the id is valid and any warning or error that clearly states otherwise is simply wrong.
it's roblox studio that is wrong, not @tough wave
and we are also wrong for believing studio and not bananaboi
I cant tell if you're being sarcastic, but the id is lit not wrong
that is the correct id
I have checked everywhere you can find the id, it is always that id
well then why doesn't it work? you say the id is correct therefore it must be correct. your assumptions are flawless, and your knowledge of studio is better than studio itself. any errors or warnings studio gives you are just lies and propoganda meant to push the schlepp conspiracy
so i can only assume you have been selectively targeted by roblox for your exceptional game dev skills and they are deliberately sabotaging your ability to load animations.
yes, that must be it.
it is definitely, 💯 not the id being wrong. you said it is correct so it must be
not until you accept the id is wrong -_-
so... what, are you saying this error is.. what, a lie? or whatever nonsense i just said it was?
.
so the error saying you can't load the animation because the id not accepted .. what, you're just going to... completely ignore that and assume you're more correct than studio is?
well, whenever you have any kind of problem in development.
Step #1: Assume every assumption you have made is wrong or incorrect until proven correct
starting with the id
the id is wrong
what are some possible reasons the id could be wrong?
because if you just blindly assume you're doing this correct, then you will never ever solve it.
Im not assuming im doing it correct, I just dont see what could be wrong
the answer here is really stupid but i wonder if you'll be able to figure it out without me outright stating it
It just worked randomly for lit no reason whatsoever im not even kidding
101804390441992 was the id
what the hell
ALSO THAT ISNT BECAUSE I WAS WRONG I REPLUBLISHED AGAIN
I WASNT WRONG
THE GAME ENGINE IS WRONG
I AM CODER MASTER OF ALL CODERS
congrats
thank you for frustrating me enough to motivate me just to prove you wrong 🙂
just gotta trust the process, i'm glad you figured out you were publishing the wrong thing
you were publishing the animation object instead of the animation track
its actually a old error message i think, my animation id is also like 14 digits
pls dont bully me now pyro
animations come in several different forms, when making them in studio you get a folder of keyframes in serverstorage. if you publish that it will not work, which is most likely what you were doing. you have to publish it from the animation editor instead to get an actual animation track.
No I was doing it from the animation editor
I quite literally did not change what I did at all that whole time
It just worked eventually
Insanity payed off
** You are now Level 4! **
if not that then probably just wrong animation id
the copy button didn't copy
maybe you typed out the id manually and that fixed it
I mean I did once or twice to see if that fixed it but not every time lol
Ok I actually gtg
tis some insane ragebait
@tough wave did it work
