depends on how you want your inventory to be setup
you could use replicatedstorage or serverstorage for tools asw
you could also store in a folder inside the player
never use local script for storage or anything like that worst way for hackers to abuse everything
you can store the Tool Name inside a table (toolname must be unique), because storing a tool inside a table take more memory than a string
but if your tool have custom behavior like with state and data, then store it inside a table
