Is everyone manually setting hitboxes for swords or is there some easier way to do this?

as in you either set every hitbox manually or make every hitbox the same (or the same class)

i.e classes of hitboxes like longsword, shortsword, and all swords have one of those 2 classes of hitbox

...or you give every sword its own hitbox

meshes can detect collisions, it's just not very ideal. much more expensive than a standard part
