What should I start practicing?

Helloo, I am really interested in scripting, especially with Roblox Studio, since Roblox is a platform I have been using for eight years, and knowing that I have the opportunity to script my own experiences within it is something I cannot miss out on.

I'm not that new to scripting, im still learning, I know about loops and the basics, arithmetic, functions, etc.
But I wanted to know what topics I can practice to help me understand the scripting language better. For example, I already know all the basics of TweenService and UserInputService, so I have no problems with that.
But I would like to learn more. What should I start practicing with?

make a game

find a simple game on roblox and create a copy of it

or try making a game like a tycoon from scratch

Try making a obby but don't make the smae repeated obby like everyone else. Try adding a twist or new concepts to it like for example spin a slot machine until you get 777 or something else.

Really any simple game you like should work for this say stage of learning. Mainly your focus should be on learning new services and common structures.

Since this is a learning project i would recommend looking up how to do stuff on the dev-forum, even if you copy scripts as long as you understand HOW it works you should be in clear. Though don't overdo it 🫢

stuff like:
-> Round-based escape game
-> Round-based obby game (like 'tower of hell')
-> Survival game

are some good starting points!

yes, exactly! based on the two services you already know i'd recommend 'PathFindingService' next! it's really cool, and pretty easy to understand!
