#Is he trying to scam me?
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
i am new to commission so idk if he is trying to scam me he ask for access to my baseplate
just give them a blank one
or if they need existing work, give them a blank baseplate with enough for them to do the work
i am doing the work for him
oh
he wants me to fix his script
but
i think he is going to take the fixed script and not pay me
yeah i just make a public experience for them to see that the work has been completed and i dont give until pay
if that not good enough for them then they're probably a bad buyer
let them hire someone else
i haven't started on the work yet
it is a fair concern of theirs some might do that, but really who's going to go through the trouble of completing the job for them, showing them it is done, getting paid, and not deliver it?
they probably pre-paid someone and they were blocked, don't ever prepay
i don't think u understand the full story lemme explain so i am looking to get some robux so i do some commissions now i found him and he needs me to fix some bugs on his script but unlike my first client he wants access to it before i even started working on it so i have this thought maybe when i am done with the script he will copy it and block me
maybe thats how they want to give you the buggy code
bit odd, but yeah always complete works in a project only you have access to
they can't send it through a file
that's bullshit
wdym?
roblox studio can export anything to rbxm file, or entire projects as rbxl, and discord is quite capable of letting you upload and share files
they either don't know that, or are hoping you don't.
so he is trying to scam me right?
bruh
how am i supposed to know
its seems fishy but no proof
just do what you need to do to protect yourself and that's the best you can hope for
shit happens
i think i shouln't do because he doesn't need access to my baseplate where i am going to work on the script
thank u for the help
if you don't like how a job looks, don't take it. you don't have to take every job
okay
in fact i generally dont take any jobs at all anymore coz the pay sucks and you have to deal with scams like this
and they're not all always clear cut scams
so how else would i make robux
** You are now Level 3! **
i need robux for ads
e.g i've had someone hire me for an antigravity thing, took me half a day to get it just right, then they offered half the agreed amount. i told them to f off and I cut my losses.
ok
thanks for the help
i really appreciate it
also realistically speaking even if you had half a decent game somehow, you need to spend hundreds to thousands to get enough views for roblox to start naturally picking your game up
employment scary..
so i should stop

hey pyro, i have a question, how much would u ask to be paid to fix a checkpoint system with datastore, and with effects (it's like a obby thing)
i spent some time going over every single game in my feed for a while, and i think i saw 100,000 views like once or twice, never less
my games which have almost none occasionally get like 1~2 people a day so, maybe my games just suck, but if you want to get on frontpage it costs a lot
meanwhile a nearly identical game gets 5k ccu because they were able to advertise...
you can still try to make games, you'll learn a lot, but if you're very young and don't have many useful game dev skills it is going to be very difficult for you to actually get anywhere with it. maybe make games that you want to play.
okay
but as a job or career? lol roblox aint just free money, it's very difficult and highly competitive. roblox likes to not mention that part
having a game does not mean it will be successful, so just make stuff for yourself and if it's any good people will play it.
if not, well at least you enjoy what you've made 👍
i do it as a hobby
okay
also yeah contending with commissions to make some robux on the side
no one said that would be easy either
u are right commissions are quite hard since i am just starting but i have no other options other than pls donate(which doesn't work)
5k plus tax
either way thanks for the help
hah yeah pls donate aint gonna get you anywhere. develop a useful skill and you'll get robux, but really tbh just focus on your schooling, go to uni and get a good job then you'll have all the robux you want

i ain't going to get a job
i would rather stick on the streets
you will someday. that does not need to be today
im the one doing the commision xD, but I didn't know what price would be fair
thx
ok
i didn't say that was a fair price. i said that was my price
we all have different prices just do what suits u the best
realistically you can probably expect like 500 robux or thereabouts for something simple like that, maybe less.
i charge a lot more because my time is valuable and i know what i'm doing
take his answer
i dont need your robux ;o
k, thx anyways, 5k sounds expensive but to be honest most of the people accepting too low robux is probably all AI code, i did my first commision not too long ago, and 500 was exactly what I charged for something quite simple, it was just a jump effect and something else equally simple, but now he's asking me to fix his checkpoint system, because the previous person who worked on his project did literally everything with AI, it was a horror to read
repeat customers is good, and start small
specially if you never done commission before
(idk if this is a good thing or not)what i do i ask the client what is good for them and ask for more if it is not enough for me
for some reason i imagine pyro just saying "thats not enough."
