#can someone help me with setting up some UI for my game?

but muffin, this is what actually making the game actually is. no one said it was fun. much of it is, but also much of it is not.
you say you'd rather "get this out of the way", but all you're making way for is another similar problem that is, in all likelihood, slightly more difficult, that if you cannot solve the one in front of you now, how can you solve the next? this is making a game.
i am
** You are now Level 4! **
no, you got this, dont need dms. i belief in you
alr then ill say it here
i think id like some help yknow, and not just from a AI assistant or from youtube tutorials because that gets boring fast. i like the idea of being able to build a game with someone together, being able to actively communicate and do problem solving together, and not 90% of all the work being one person. i get that its pretty hard to do stuff like this together because i have asked people many in the past about this, all i ever got was a maybe, and then it ended up with them ghosting me. all though more than half the time if i ask do co-dev a game the person would be like "how much per hour?" or smt like that like they expect payment. when in the end, all i really want is to make a game with someone for FREE that we can enjoy making together and have fun with a project like this.
the fantasy of that is indeed fun. the reality is not. deal with it
your so wise
gotta live with it
i didn't ask for money. if i were to ask for anything, i'd ask for evidence you can even remotely handle even 50% of the work.
the evidence would be the fact that id rather have more ownership of the game itself bcuz i actually did
maybe that's something comissionewbies forget. offering 10% of the project, also means that person takes 10% of the responsibility.
since im the one asking its bcuz i rlly wanna do it and im willing to do more than my ig "fair share" of the work
and lest forget even more the fact that if we start to truly evaluate the proportions of work being done, why would i sacrifice 90% of my work to receive only 10% of the reward of my own efforts?
and that's all assuming ahem ... "Your" project does or does not flop
idc how much of the work im doing is however much more than the other person/s
you're asking for more than you might think you're asking for
http://dontasktoask.com explains it well
holy crap thats perfect
yeah i'm sure you don't care, but i do. how can i work even 10% with someone that doesn't care on the level i need them to?
you expect someone to sacrifice their time, skills and effort just for a portion of your game.
nor is this evidence
of their game* is easy to take for granted
so... not to be cruel or cowardly, but there's a reason private work comes with a price. there's lots of ui artists in #👷︱for-hire if you don't want to do UI yourself. and trust me i know how annoying ui is.
i hate ui... but i still do it because it is essential to making games. you gotta do what you gotta do 🤷
yeah UI is def hard to learn
its hell
its kind of sad tho
knowing that you can't get help for free
can't get work for free*
actually yeah now i get it
im asking too much
i probably worded some of what i said wrong too
nvm guys ill js keep trying by myself but thank you anyways tho
a bit, yeah. but i see it as just a matter of understanding how the ecosystem works. e.g you don't need super epic flashy mcfancy animations, you just need animate legs go brr backflip and you can hire an animator later if/when (AFTER) your game works. but not before. it's easy to upgrade when you're already there. it is very much wasteful to make it perfect the first time.
@red shard you actually gave me a really nice and helpful way of seeing this
don't give up. ui is annoying, but it is generally the hardest to screw up
just use scale instead of offset and you'll be right
aswell if it doesnt look perfect first try, dont worry. it takes time to learn
im honestly asking too much of myself
im new to roblox game developing
like new new
maybe a couple weeks
and im alr trying to make a souls like game
plus i was only asking cuz i feel like the ui is gonna be the harder part to
