I've watched many tutorials before I've been on and off for a year, I have multiple notes and unsaved roblox places with random scripts i just copied, but when i go into roblox studio after being so motivated I just lose all my creative motivation and my will to start scripting, I literally forget everything and dont know where to go, I know the names of things, and what they do, but i have no idea how to implement them into creating a game, Right now I want to make a battlegrounds game with 5 characters, but Every video i watch or every reddit discussion, discord thread, in this server and others, they all tell me start with small projects and it takes years, Is that really true? Also is using AI to learn how to script or to guide me on where to look that bad as people seem, I've noticed ESPECIALLY in this server the actual experience scripters are willing to kill you if you use ai, pls help chat i want to make a fun roblox game and not spend my hours playing aba, grow a garden, or some extremely bad game i play for 2 days and then drop. pls pls help

Give me a game plan on what to do guys, where to look for motivation, and how to concretely learn and see actual progress from experienced developers.
im currently working on a pvp game and i suggest you do the same
the sheer flexibility of a pvp game really lets you experiment with your coding knowledge and it gets you to situations where you need to learn more
and the flexibility also allows you to be as creative as you want
okay well I will continue u that thank u also
how should i go about breaking the game down
is there a specific order that is better to do like map, animations, then models or ?
thanks again
me personally i started off making goofy weapons and making a map to have people fight on
after that its creative drive and what I personally want to do
if you're looking for somewhere to start then i recommend making a weapon YOU want to make
after making a weapon really makes you feel good and confident about your skills to continue with other stuff
also another tip, since you're starting quality wont be good
its expected
but dont worry about it
think of this as a fun project you're making for yourself
Using ai isnt bad. Im far into development of a pretty complicated game and havnt written a single script myself. The important part is understanding how the scripts work and how roblox studio works as a whole
You need to be able to be able to debug when ai messes up or doesnt understand your framework
"Using ai to make art isnt bad. Im a popular artist with plenty of drawings and havent learned to draw at all myself. The important part is understanding what the people want and how to tell the ai to do it"
using ai to learn is good
using ai to code is bad
(as in write your code for you)
how dumb are you
can you explain how its inherently bad?
I know how to code, I use it to save time as a solo dev.
your monkey brain says "ai bad" with no valid reasoning
use whatever resources are available to get the job done, don't hinder yourself for some sort of arbitrary rules that have no grounds
sure you know what the code means
but you didnt make the code
you never learned how to solve problems
u have ai solve it for you
if ai did something wrong sure you can fix it
but the problems you face and things you want to make should be created by you and you only
it requires a different way of thinking
and frankly its insulting to the entire coding community
I solved all the problems. I told the ai exactly how I want my algorithms to work.
I do not give a singular fuck, I work more efficiently than you 💀
Stop being some kind of coding elitist, you arent special for not using ai
what Ai did u use ? @tacit river
I just use chat gpt
this isnt even bad
