Getting into Scripting

Hi!

I would like to start scripting and learning lua
I would be pleased if anyone could tell me where to start such as certain guides which are recommended to use and start with
it could be possible
-> Youtubers / youtube vids
-> guides on websites

What ever works the best I would be pleased too now and it would be helpfull if you linked it!
im not 100% sure if i should be posting this here but this is what came into mind

(side note , this is like my 3rd time trying to start scripting , i usally get bored of it because everything takes place n the command interface menu , could anyone tell me why everyone starts with it? 😁 )

you must think first what do you want to script

and step by step

you will learn more and more

until you learn the basic syntax of lua

i have always had this one passion project ive always dreamed of having but its extremely complicated

do you have any recommendations on where to start for learning lua?
and do you think its better to learn it as lua , or as lua in roblox studio

well i learnt lua in roblox studio

so jst see youtube videos and hear their explanations

start by learning how to make a killing brick

or when a part is touched to change color

but instead im greeted with the first 5 videos of being told to write these commands that only effect the command interface

anyway the one tip i have is don't start by trying to make a huge game

that's a dead end

i also got bored of scripting a lot too tbh, but i'd say i'm regularly involved now

i will warn you that this is a necessary step, even if it's all just console output eventually it wil become very useful

learning isn't supposed to be fun it's hard to make learning fun i guess

1. You have the studio forums where developers ask each other questions and get answers.

2. Studio docs which has a general explanation to most if not all the pieces of syntax in scripting.

3. You can watch brawldev (as French mc said) as a beginner, he has a playlist for beginner and advanced and for gui making.
