I have an instance.new that is meant to visualize a raycast. I wanted to add it to the raycast's exclusion list so it doesn't interfere with the raycast. However, the part isn't being ignored for some reaosn. I checked, the variable that refers to it (rayPart) does fire, but it is seemlingly not added to the raycast exclusion list.

i just figured out the issue and got it working right as you said something
i just made a model and part in rep storage and cloned it
apparently the filter works on cloned objects but not new instances
