Yo
its 6 🫃
Hmmmm
What
1
What.
2
you aint reaching that number bud
12
9
i think 7
guys its 1 I think😭
1......
2(1+2) is 6, and 6/6 is 1
is this qotd better than the pizza question
?

** You are now Level 9! **
yeah actually warn this guy for spam
Fuck you Qp
3
spam
btw the answer is 1
@graceful patio warn this guy for spam
9
Bro
i think its 1 (if im wrong its cuz im tired, its like 0:30 :) )
pemdas
parentheses | (1+2)
6/2(3)
division | 6/2
3(3)
multiplication | 3(3)
9
"omg omg 1st amendment!!" this is the internet not america so stfu
Im french
omg even worse
Why
fr*nce
BRO CENSOR THAT
or maybe its 9 either 1 or 9 hh too tired to do math
Stop with the censoring french thing please.
For what
why
9
then warn the fr*nchman for spam

nah its actually
pemdas
parentheses (1+2)
6/2(3)
multiplication 2x3
6/6
division6/6
1
..
It's 1 what are we on
in pemdas its not multiplication before division, its whichever comes first in the equation by reading it left to right
According to BODMAS, divide first. So 6 ÷ 2 = 3
Now 3(1 + 2) = 3 + 6
= 9
same
oh this why i been failing math
The 2 next to the parentheses is just multiplication and you do that left to right so it's
6 / 2 * 3
3 * 3
9
dr seus made pemdas bruh
i should go sleep now
Bodmas was way b4 Dr. SEUS
Ye
yeah thats why I said pemdas buckp
goodnight chat
Bodmas can be trusted
Pedmas made me pay 10 extra dollars
bro they make you pay subscriptions now??
i have dyscalculia
What in the Dementia
** You are now Level 4! **
Dayum
Dogs be evolving
Now unrelated topic but hear me out
x = 0.999... (repeating 9s)
10 * x = 10 * 0.999...
10x = 9.999...
10x - x = 9.999... - x
9x = 9.999... - 0.999...
9x = 9
9x / 9 = 9 / 9
x = 1
So that means 1 = 0.999... repeating
WHAT THE
WHY IS BRO TAKING x
is this coding or something what th hell
x = 1 that's it
Don't ask
print hi
I still can't understand Def
print("Hi!")
It's a proof for 0.9 repeating being equal to 1
AHEM
what the hell does that mean vro
I way too young for this
HOW DOES ONE BE ON CLICKTEAM FOR 19HRS
Uh
The team won't click itself
worst QOTD
** You are now Level 6! **
it's 9
1?
** You are now Level 2! **
1
nvm its 9
9 if you account for actual pemdas
Many people see this as an issue with the parenthesises
9
I like to call multiplying two expressions, one being inside parenthesis my own thing
problem is, the parenthesis are still under the fraction
I call it "parentheplying"
there is no fraction
If parentheplying, the answer is 1
I see a lot of Americans here
6 / 2 * (1 + 2)
6 / 2 * 3
3 * 3
9
oh i get it now
1
Actual pemdas says the answer is 9
** You are now Level 3! **
um ok
M and D are done from left to right in that order
still 9
Yeah
idk why
Isnt It 1? 6÷2(3) = 6÷6?
Mathematicians like the old conventions to agree on how math is supposed to be interpreted
like to hold*
Because if It Is 9 then the bracket would be at the last step
Because there is a plus in the middle so you can't do the addition
Parentheplying is when you account for the P step in pemdas as an expression that looks like this:
a(b)
It's a misconception
what r u smoking buddy
Yeh mb
Because this question is formally written as : 6 / 2 * (1 + 2)
So it will be
(36÷6×3)+(2²-(3+5))
No 😭
You put the parenthesis around the first expression
Fuck
And while that doesn't change anything
It would've if the thing outside were dofferent
But in the end its 9
Another thing
That actually changed the answer
You put parenthesis around the second half of the expression
Ignoring how addition and subtraction are done at the same time
9
Sybau
3
how the fuck is anybody getting an answer that isnt 1
6 / 2(1 + 2)
6 / 2(3)
6 / 6
1
That's a terrible way to write it. It needs more parenthesis in certain area as to leave less room for misinterpretation.
because of the way it was written and the way some people were taught
the question is specifically written to be misinterpreted im guessing
im not sure how peoples thought process is atp
its 9 lol
i can explain
6 / 2(1+2)
FIRST WE DO THE BRACKETS (SOLVE WHATEVER IS INSIDE OF THEM)
6/2(3)
now because bidmas says division is first we do
6/2 = 3
so now we have 3(3) and theres only 1 thing to do which is multiply
3(3) = 9
therefore the answer is 9
the people who are getting 1 are doing 6/2(3)
6/6
but that would only be true if it was 6/(2x3)
but its outside
But wait isn’t it PEMDAS
Parenthensies
Exponents
Multiplication
Division
Adition
Subtraction
But you’re using () around 2(1+2)
I mean math is interpreted from left to right
So it should actually be nine no?
its cus 2(1 + 2) isnt valid syntax in lua
lua would think youre calling a number as a function
actually youre right
Otherwise you’re essentially prioritising the multiplication
1
Nuh uh
UHH 6 ÷ 2 is 9 so its NINE!!
It's 1, if you use PEMDAS/GEMDAS because 2+1=3 (P) 2×3 (M) 6 ÷ 6 (D)
6 ÷ 2(2+1)
6 ÷ 2(3)
6 ÷ 6
1
** You are now Level 4! **
I may have gotten order of addition off, but due to the properties of addition it doesn't change anything
is it not just 9
Its 1
what type math are we learning
** You are now Level 3! **
9
Erm
Y'all dumb?
6 / 2 * (1+2)
1+2 = 3
6 / 2 = 3 + 3 = 6
wait
None of us r correct
bruh
0.2608695650183810209188377635738283
9
1 if algebra, 9 if not.
6
6/2(1+2)
So first we solve the brackets, 3.
6/2 × 3.
(6/2 = 3)
Which leaves us with 3×3
3×3=9
barack obama
9
9
its 1, not 9
DONT FORGET THE ASSOCIATIVE PROPERTY, the multiplication is combined and should be solved entirely first
1
oh wait no
9
its 9
no
the rule is, powers first, then parantheses then multiplication or division depending on their order then adittion or subtraction depending on their order
2(1+2) is (2 * 3)
or it can be 1(2 + 2)
w/o the ()
it doesnt really matter, but its to show that the multiplication is grouped together
it does matter
6 / (2 * 3) is different than 6 / 2 * 3
according to your solving, 6/1 (2+2) = 24, and 24 = 9
nah bro
brotosynthesis what
2(1+2) = 1(2+2)
substitution
associative property, the orders of which numbers are grouped dont affect the final product/sum when adding/multiplying
thats if no () are in the question
it doesnt apply to an equation with parantheses
there was another property, let me check it
commutative property, the orders of numbers dont matter when adding or multiplying
thats
if
no
parantheses
are in
the
question
Paratheses are meant to keep order.
doesnt 2(40 * 1) = 40(2 * 1)?
parantheses are meant to be solved first
also this doesnt make sense btw
you've been taught badly. parantheses in multiplication are meant to signify multiplying two final numbers
it does. 2(1+2) = (2 * 3) because 1+2 is 3, so 2(3). that could also be (2 * 3). associative property applies in 2(1 + 2), making 1(2 + 2).
brother
2(1+2) is 6
and 1(2+2) is 4
ah it seems that I've got some numbers mixed up
BUT. 3(2) is 2(1 + 2), so in your equation,
6/3 (2) = 2(2) = 4
9 doesnt equal 4
then it depends on the spacing. if spacing matters, it is 1. if it doesnt, it is 9.
oml
@stray snow
uh more then 1
i used all my remaining braincells, i think its 9
21?
6
6
it's not wrong, just simple math, number before a ( without anything between them means there is multiplication
first you do 1+2, then 6/2
so you got 3x3 left
there you get a 9
but you can aswell move the 2 to 6 like google did and do 6/2 first, won't change anything
its the same thing
they both mean the same thing
yeah it is but bidmas is the way i was taught they still mean the same thing
it gave u 1 because it doesnt follow the laws of operation
uhh
⁶⁄₂(1+2)
so 3(1+2) = 9
thank you fractions
thats obv 9
