humanoids create alot of lag but why?

heard for a hoard of NPC's and stuff like that, using humanoid is terrible by reducing performance, but why does it reduce performance?

it's cause like

if you spam a bunch of characters

each character has stuff like anims and hp and meshes and a lot of stuff

and like,.

it's kinda like 1 npc = 1 player
