If you want the weapon to be in the hand of your character you can add it to your tool, with a handle etc.. (there is a lot of tutorials to do that)
Or you can also weld it to you character using Motor6D.

Second solution is better because then you'll be able to animate you're character AND the weapon, but it's also harder.
