in a perfect world yes, but its kinda difficult
@bronze needle it’s justifiable to not accept people with prior bans, but not accepting people with prior warns is just harsh
a lot of staff including me had former modlogs
cant relate 😭 🙏
if the warn is from like a year ago i guess its okay
but otherwise idc if its harsh it should just be the standard
you are saying that because you have never gotten warned before
If i wanted to be mod I would've been mod by now
i'm saying it because it should just be the standard
shut up
As a person who got banned for sending a free UI... I'm in.
how long ago was this
2-3 years
I mean thats something that can be forgiven, a lot can happen within 2 or 3 years. But I've noticed a pattern where users with hella warns/bans are also the most active, which makes them more eligible for staff
yess, we don't want amir back
assuming this applies to false bans too, this would genuinely be too harsh
I've been banned for a genuinely false reason (misunderstood my message), and they unbanned me as soon as I explained what I meant
Having something like that immediately cast you out of the pool for moderator wouldn't be fair at all
(Especially if the ban reads terribly on your name; this idea only works if you were unbanned for pity)
Also, I thought that's what the meaning of "No major ban history" was?
no major moderation history is generally up to the discretion of the people reading the apps
bans definitely contribute to it, but if your ban is for a lesser important reason and/or an old ban then it could affect the process
same with warns, if theyre about to expire / are minor warns then they arent taken into consideration as much
Hang on
I had a bunch of prior warns and a ban
But I was also mod twice
I don’t like this suggestion
people make mistake
