@grizzled field what do you replicate over and how often?
pretty much the bare minimum and some things like position is only replicated for 5 frames
per second?

so you lerp the rest
well theres also velocity and rotational packets
positional is just for correction
so you send over velocity and rotation every frame
making it seem like you infer position from velocity and rotation
would only be possible if those are sent more frequent
to correct everything
for overall lower data transfer

it predicts the current position based on ping
ping and velocity?
not the most accurate but still makes it much more accurate than without
theoretically
by how much tho
npcs are pretty much on the limit
but they still look rlly good so not sure

your running the cart separately on the client and update it per frame based on velocity
velocity and rotation is updated
once every few frames
position is overridden aswell every few frames

Yep
since network bandwidth is actually almost more important for accuracy bc low ping
with all 10 karts (npcs/players) about 3.5 kb/s
maybe up to 5 if theres a lot of power ups
dont you think thats abit excessive tho
if you dont have 50 kbps spare for a roblox game
it got reduced a lot after removing physics replication
so the problem is while you can technically do that
it increases ping a lot
why is ping affected
i assume because more data being transferred
also packets are checked so that only the latest data is actually used
so increase in data receive / ping makes it more unstable
