rules being violated to show a valid example of a rule violation within the rules message itself is fine imo
that’s dumb
they shouldn’t have to make members assume they’re using the word, when they could just use ‘hello’ as an example
‘h||lol||o’ would be a much better example
without breaking the thing they’re trying to prevent
it's not but i wont argue with you. in my server i have listed 3 explicit slurs that - used outside of the rules channel - will result in a ban. not skirting around my own rules for the examples
so should i start going around showing nsfw in my servers rules as an example of what not to do?
yes that’s an extreme example, but it’s the same concept
there's a huge difference between showing actual nsfw and listing a few explicit banned words
that's like saying "Timmy. If your friend jumped off a bridge, would you too?" whilst getting reprimanded for fooling around. of course not, that's suicide! of course Timmy wouldn't jump after his friend! like no there's no comparison to be made there
it’s still the same idea
anyway it doesn’t really matter
you said you didn’t want to argue
yes. one implementation of the idea is alright and the other crosses all reasonable morals. which one could it possibly be? exactly. your implementation.
bros trying to make the rules more confusing when just an example of a non nsfw violation would do justice
bye
😭
i’m gonna go into a room full of children and tell them not to say these specific slurs
don’t take that out of context
yes but it could be something else that still shows what it is, without breaking the rule
like ‘h||lol||o’
fair
