Okay, let's start with something

The lighting seems a bit off, there's no primary light in the scene

put a sun lamp if you're in blender at an appropriate angle

also

the color contrast is throwing me off

there's too many traces of either colour

Try white lighting to start

don't bother with coloring

just light up the scenes

and then you can color them as you go

because now you know where important areas are that should stay untouched

if needed, remove the light.
