I went mining the day before Nobu Jr. was supposed to come to town, and I died 😦 which teleported me home like usual... And the "immediate morning" cutscene started like all the others, where it yanked me outside the second I woke up, except then the game kind of froze. The music still played, and petals continued to fall, but Nobu just stood there, judging me, while Nobu Jr. was nowhere to be seen (idk if he should've been there), too embarrassed by me to even be in my presence. I tried pressing every button but none of them responded. I was just trapped in the moment under the weight of my incompetence.

I'll see what happens when I boot up the game again (I was already delaying going to bed and the game freezing was a good way to make me stop playing lol)

So when I booted up the game again, it was the night before Nobu tells me that Bibbles is coming. (It was 8pm zero stamina on Wednesday; Thursday morning he says Nobu Jr. is coming; Friday is when the kid comes, and the day when the game froze.) Which meant I had to re-play Thursday, but that's okay, because that was the day I died anyway. I decided to cut down the softwood tree you said was in the way. Then I finished Thursday without dying. The cutscene ran as normal. Idk if the problem was the tree or dying the night before a morning cutscene.

next update is going to have a fallback where if they can't spawn there

they will find the next closest point where they can try and find clear ground to prevent softlocking on cutscenes involving the player house
