hs 80 max icue forces surround sound (8 channels)

hello guys, i bought an hs80 max, icue always forces surround sound ( 8 channels in windows settings) when i change it back to 2 channels it automatically changes back to 8 channels after i restart the headset. is this a bug or intended? should i just leave it at 8 channels?

stereo is also greyed out in icue settings is that normal?
