its a weird mix. partly stacked sensor... but smaller mp count. so Im curious to see banding issues in E-shutter mode. since most of the speed is on e-shutter, the shutter limiting it a lot.

any of the major three in raw will be fine. just changes a tad how you edit. imho, Nikon has the best raw colors so I dont have to adjust much if at all. Canon is more muddled but can look just as nice after post.

for me it always comes down to erginomics. Nikon is the best at that.

sony AF probably the best but you're holding a brick. also has the most lenses first and 3rd party.

oh and Sony tends to have a green tint to everything that has to be edited out. Its slight, but its heavy on the green band.

No. The big advantage to mirrorless is, you know how the shot will look when you take it. DLSR you have to do preview, some math and some guessing and reviewing.

DLSR does have better battery life, but also slower AF. Even the OG Nikon Z6/7 have better AF. (Which wast bad like everyone made it seem. It just wasnt as good as the other brands out the gate)

Its not unusable. Just not as fast and more importantly, not nearly as many AF points. Like the lower end Canon rebels have like 7 AF points, Even a 1k not on sale Nikon Z5 has over 250 AF points.

but again, that doesnt matter if you're mostly just shooting trees. 7 is enough. Trees arent running and you can take your time reference the sun. But if you want to shoot peoople, the more the better, so it can nail the eye every time.

Changing the ISO dial won't change the films sensativity, but it will change what the light meter is calculating. So if you are using 200 ISO film and set the camera to 100 ISO, you will end up overexposing by a full stop

(pulling film)

if you have 200 iso film and set the camera to 400 iso, you underexpose by a stop (pushing)

its pretty common for people to push and pull B&W film

Nikon DLSRs are legendary especially the D750 and D850. Annie Leibovitz uses them. Mirrorless got a bad wrap for not as good AF and being late to the mirrorless game behind Sony and Canon. But not bad and even has surpassed them in some areas, like stacked sensors (Sonys global sensor came after)

Nope. Just z8. I don’t need the giant ass z9. The z8 has pixel shift z9 doesn’t. Z8/9 AF the same. Both get 20 fps uncompressed raw or 120fps compressed jpeg. Z9 battery is larger. Only real advantage and has the double grip for comfort shooting in landscape and portrait.

Oh and z9 both card slots are CFexpress. Not one CF and one SD like the rest of the lineup. I wish they were the same on the z8 too for matched speed. Don’t need sd slowing down fast shooting.

Oh. It’s sort of like stacking images but it shifts the actual sensor to get more detail. You can do 4-8-16-32 photos and use Nikons editing software to stack the images, making the photo a max of 180 ish mp from stacked 45 mp photos.

You can get an adapter and use EF/EF-S lenses if you wanna save a buck

But keep in mind the adapter ain't cheap

I hated this lens. I'd take 180-600 over 24-200 any day. While its easy to mess up a shot, its much harder to get a good shot with the 24-200. You legit always have to be at f8-11 with that 24-200 lens and damn is it not sharp at 200 at all.
