totally safe

#

it's most likely coil whine - electrical noises

#

happens with a lot of cards, some are worse than others

#

if it is, just turn fan speeds up to "bury" the noise with something less annoying

the noise doesnt bother me, i just wasnt sure if its something wrong with the GPU that will break it soon or if i should be worried as i was thinking of upgrading

rigid zephyr
#

Does it appear under load?

#

Is it kind of a bzzzzzz?

#

and could you find a way to record it

Ah yep!

#

Coil whine…

#

My old msi card did that, current powercolor one does too

#

Not much you can do about it but it won’t hurt anything at all

placid swift
#

ahhh thats good, i was just worried it was on its way out/faulty

last thing, is it worth upgrading from a 2070 super to a 3070? or not worth the upgrade?

rigid zephyr
#

How much for the 3070

#

And does the 2070S do what you want?

placid swift
#

3070 i saw that will fit my case is £560
also it does, perfectly, i play in 1440p and i read it has better performance for 1440p gaming also the improved cuda cores made me wonder if its a worthy upgrade

rigid zephyr
#

Not worth it

placid swift
#

but at the same time i do feel this GPU is enough and now knowing it is just coil whine im doubting if its worth just upgrading

rigid zephyr

It’s more than MSRP 2 years later about to be replaced, and your current one does what you want

#

Upgrade other stuff, or even just aesthetics

placid swift
#

that is a good point!
really appreciate your help, i feel relieved, thankyou millions!
