Why not make a heart menders mini dungeon in the feature? Would make farming easier for those who are trying to farm the mini event and spawns are low in horde/normals and monuments
I'd have suggested it earlier but it's probably too late to throw one in now for this current run, but think it's worth considering in the feature.

Assuming that this is the way how it is calculated, you can stack 2x the "5%" bonus to have 1/190=0.526% ornate drop rate. Instead of 0.5%...
(after the mentioned increase to 5% bonus)

We could make an event out of this. Every time the Menders event starts, Odie streams himself throwing a dart at a dartboard with each section having various positive values to add to the quality buff. Odie is blindfolded for this throw.
If he misses the dartboard, every monster spawns with t.all+++ instead.

How can I have the event quest ? Mara is currently waiting for me to reach lvl 200 for the story quest, and she is not giving me the event quest
panda is good even if panda follower is bad, because summons aren't to be confronted 1:1 with pets , it's simply a different thing. I think being able to have 4 (or 5) cupid out could be playable while beoA cupid wouldn't

Yes, it's seems that 1x 100% removed the lowest 2 qualities, and 2x100% the lowest 4 qualities (so famed+). But this doesn't help so much for the meaning of +1% or +5%. And for Sphinx tails, the 1% were assumed to increase ornate chance from 1/200 to 1/199. So probably still one of the remaining mysteries.
Maybe this simply means that if the drop is legendary, then there is a 5% chance to increase +1 quality level to ornate?? 🤔 (or something like this)
i assumed the buff was acting multiplicatively, and it took you from 1/200 to 1/50 which seems about right for what we were seeing.
It's weird that it was not possible to get anything below famed though

I’ll be completely honest I enjoyed this “bug” of getting lots of ornates so much.. I had kept all those crests and it was definitely super cool to get full stuff to make some builds working.

hey, if you don't know it, who cares. imma right? it's the most common theme for "bugs"
@rare elm might I add that it is extremelly hard to farm the hearts or riftfall keys with multiple events going on. The event spawn is scarce and on top of that it is diluted with 3 events, making it quite hard to farm the desired materials.
The result - we are getting all materials in one place but due to the dilution, the amount is too small to buy or craft anything in these events.
If there was only a Riftfall event, the price for the key would be more than adequate, but now it feels too much, as the materials to get them is far more scarce.
Right now, players are forced to participate in all events, instead of choosing the one they like/need. As I see this happening a lot with the new event schedule, here are some suggestions for possible solutions:
Solution 1
From now on, make a specific themed dungeon for every event - it might be diluted with non event monsters to avoid it being too much farm effective, but make it so only the specific event mobs spawn there.
Solution 2
Under the dungeon settings, instead of "include event monsters", give us options like this:
Include Riftfall event
Include Menders of Hearts event
etc..
Solution 3
Lower the craft requirements based on number of ongoing events, but I see this one as potentially unfair, as the players who have big amounts of event materials already, would benefit over other players.

Menders only spawns in basic dungeons and monuments, which again spawna everything, limiting my experience with a specific event
The problem is you have still the same amount of limited time to farm, but instead of getting 1 for one event, you are getting 0,3 for all events. The problem is you can't choose. The problem is that when there is just one event, it is much easier to farm than when there are 3.
Most of us have been here for years. We know events come around and now they're testing mixes of events, there will be more beastfelled and riftbreak in the future
All these options you mentioned are taking eachothers places, you understand? Where there is monoceros, there could have been rhada instead. no matter where it is.
You are missing the point, in semptember i could average a darkrift key every 2 horde dungeons, know i struggle to get a key in 7 horde dungeons

I do think more thought needs to be put into running 4 events simultaneously. Last month it was 2x tower events and now it's 3 events in basic dungeons

in monuments concurrent events don't remove the others, that's why with 4 ongoing almost all fights are event ones. in dungeon yes they compete for the same slots (sort of, you still get more event encounters with more events ongoing).
They don't remove eachother but if an event as 18 monsters and another 9, statistically you will get more encounters of the first rather then the latter
but you get the same monument spawns of the 9 Minion One you would get if that was the only running event
Most of the encounters i see in monuments is phoenix or kerberos followers
the others are just free added extra proofs of mon/Mon XP/proof of torment
towers also have heart encounters
4 per pack, quite a few packs every 50f tower
Also in monument is ok simce you are there to farm proofs
Horde dungeons is where ideally you farm the mats for archcrafting
like phoenix doesn't spawn on the vanilla battle dungeons but show up in dragon roast
but now, riftfall and beast felled event can spawn in the vanilla battle dungeon making it hard to get materials for the riftfall keys
I sure hope that Ornate 100% bug happens again, very often, in the future 🙏

Tbh, while it is hard to get riftfall materials with this many events going on I think it's fine considering it's just the mini-event this time.
Constantly too many events and overlap now. It's just a muddy pond of getting a few items required but not enough

Others keep expressing some kind of FOMO feeling despite the fact that events come back 2-3 times a year*. Then there's a push for reduced requirements or an easier grind that trivializes the process.
There's gotta be a better balance than "4 events at once" and "nothing left to do but grind ALs," I won't disagree there... But maybe we should accept the initial grind we're given sometimes. It is, or at least was, a huge part of what makes Orna the game we all enjoy.

And that we know for sure that 100% removes broken and poor and that 200% removes superior and below. They really fudged up with the 100% drop rates and made the tail buffs and karmic buff feel super useless and showed us how useless they actually are

Now that we've seen that it takes roughly 50% quality boost to remove an entire quality bracket that's a metric that made what we have now seem even more useless
TBF, 5% is a BIIIIIIIIG improvement to the cosmetic 1%. We are going into the right direction. I do hope that the 5% also get applied to the anguish buff, the astral tree, and the sphinx tail at least buffed to 3%.

The thing is ... It's all cosmetic.
You need +100 just to get to 1% (double the normal), and 1 in 100 odds for an ornate
You need +150 to get to 2% (4x normal) and 1 in 50 odds for an ornate
You need +175 to get to 4% (8x normal, and 1 in 25 odds of ornate
It's only when you get to +190 to +200 that you actually see large increases. For each +1
I'm not saying we need the 2x 100% back as it was obviously broken. I do feel there should eventually be a cap on how high you can raise it and in in 100 is probably where I'd leave it but that would require a ton of buffs, gear, and anguish adjustment
I know its cosmetic, like the +1% godforge chance which is just a hidden excuse for us to waste more tokens on rerolling chests.
Thats why i ask, now that we are on it, to replace every 1 in that regard with a 5.
While I'm not against that you are still ending up with 0.55 (0.58 with 2x lover) which is still in the realm of cosmetic imho. It's a step in a more sanity inducing direction for sure.
I think minimum 15% tails, karmic being 25-50 and any other temp buffs (non equip able buffs fallow karmic being between 25-50%. I do like the way you showed the odds for each thing but my brain makes most sense when looking at what's available to drop left. Under 100% broken is lowest quality, 100% lowest is standard, 200% is famed lowest. Had they not have fucked this up for an entire weekend I don't think we'd understand that the buff technically works but we have such a useless amount of access to it that were better off just using another accessory and just getting the boosters for tower shards and proofs over karmic ornates

I mean sure it's easy to maintain but it's only capable of being up to 25% karmic + 15% tail +15% tail meaning 55% total all that does is remove broken which is about 5% of the drop table not to mention the buff doesn't stack with itself so it's not gonna give .ore than 25% at any given point. During heart menders we'd see up to about 105% total with both buffs up meaning standard quality or higher for a total of only 10% of the drop table being removed taking an ornate to about a 7 or 8% drop rate. It wouldn't really be that powerful given that there's only very few times of the year that you can achieve that entire buff

Mathematically, it's only a 1 % drop rate, which I am fine with but I do think there needs to be an upper limit / cap.
I think the bigger issue is knowing these buffs don't seem to do anything on raids and tower bosses

So 2x tail, karmic ornate, and drop quality+1 is 1/196

Math random can't equal 1 so you'll never get 100% drop rates.
So depending on how it's setup, I assume it's adding +x to your roll, so if you rolled a 0.01 (broken) and had +100% drop rate....your minimum roll is now +0.5/1 so now all rolls are 0.5-0.999
That's very similar what I thought. So a draw from a uniform distribution between 1-200, with specified quality intervals, where only 200 is ornate (so 1/200 chance).
So +100 either increasing your roll (so you have outcome +100 -> but this would result in too many ornates) or reducing the lower interval, so that you have a random draw from 101-200 (instead of 1-200), which would result in 1% ornate chance.
However, for 2x 100% both doesn't really work as this would result in 100% ornate chance. But maybe the second 100% bonus simply removes the "new" 50% lower numbers, so that you ahve a random draw between 150-200? But this would imply 2% ornates, which seems to be too low.
That's why I think it's math.random because it can never equal 1....so depending on how it's setup ...you can't reach 1/1 so you are capped at 1/2.....which is pretty close to the drop rate we saw.
(pseudocode, but demonstration of quality roll and bonus effect)

What we saw last weekend was two instances of 100, but Odie has built-in safeguards incase anything goes horribly wrong to make sure that 100% ornate chance doesn't happen

If the follower's stated rates add up to 100 taking into account the skills they have, they will always act. That sounds really vague so I'll make an example with our well-known fey cactus.
Let's say cactus has a 20% attack rate and a 20% spell rate; it will have a 60% chance to act because it can either attack, or use one of 2 arrowstorm spells. If it has 20% attack rate and 40% spell rate, it will always either attack or use one of its 2 spells.

Cuz my alt's cactus may not attack a lone foe, but it always attacks a room full of them
yeah that is an aoe specific skill factor. It's why I said I was oversimplifying a lot.
Is there a functional difference in fey cactus and Cupid?
Fey cactus is better . Does more DMG and acts more often. Cupid is less dmg but gives 2 turns of ward
Cupid isnt very good imo. Could use a buff. Its not even close to the cactus in terms of act rate. Should be a little less act because you get ward turns but its not even close currently.
Tbh the ward turns isn't even that useful imo, like you can just woo first turn and you're not using stuff like cactus or cupid in towers in the first place

If anything, just give it att and dex bond like cactus, and extra stuff to atleast make it decent.. It's depressing to see an event pet that's somewhat eh to grind being worse than a base game pet

You have a slightly weaker single target fey cactus, who does more ae DMG at the expense of not acting as often

That only applies if it has a reasonable cost; even the reduced price of 700 was too much for a functionally inferior cactus.

that sounds like a player problem, I spent 5000 hearts this morning on aspects after I had already purchased my initial HoC and cupid
I do run a lot of dungeons though
Im on hoa, so my opinion isn't really as strong since im capped,
ah, my bad, zero recent HoA experience
But either way cupid is just meh, did towers and got like 200 per 5 50 floors
But dungs were miserable
I'd have to run full ruiarc just to see a few warriors

I went from 10 to 30 on the badge, got a few Cupid accessories, and ended with 500 hearts. I probably ran 5 dungeons a day on average, but a chunk of those were darkrift dungeons... So I put in probably around 2k hearts.
