Anyway, I just want to stress how I find this game to be incredible, which is the only reason why the current new player experience saddens me a bit

It doesn't affect me too much because of the kind of player I am and the help I'm getting, but I still believe it doesn't do a very good job at retaining new players as it can also be seen through the various complaints on this very server - but I'm sure you have much more data than me

It's a shame because I think a bigger player influx (and them staying more) would be very beneficial and healthy for the game

I could write an extensive feedback once I get to 250 and have the whole picture if you might be interested in that

I also apologize if I seemed heated or anything negative earlier on, it wasn't my intention

The new daily to finish a monument will get new players into monuments. Ignoring the time it takes to find them, they are objectively very good for exp/orns. Personally, when I started the game and discovered how good monements were for exp/orns, it made me walk and explore the city I'm in a lot more than I had done before I had picked up the game. The old daily system was particularly onerous with the rewards that reset at midnight and I totally ignored them. I kept playing for the joy of exploring the world... each week finding the monuments (and then towers at t9). I even started taking my wife out to eat more to check for monuments and towers. So, I can now credit the game for helping my health, with more walking, and even for helping my marriage 🤣

What other RPG can say that? This is a great game overall, but, imo, the GPS world exploration aspect of the game is the thing that really holds onto new players in an extremely saturated game market. It did for me, at least.

You've never gotten deep endless then endless actually takes knowledge and knowing when you need to use this vs this my endless run consist of more buttons than my raid load out and horde dungeon load out not including the buffs required before you actually run. Terra seal 3 for dragon immune viperseal 3 for the majority of the run when pen becomes an issue a trielement skill when zerk apex damage skill when tank is needed apex def res skill. raids are ward of ort gunnr mimics wyvern speed spike shield 3 occasional wol3 dungeons are a single button with the occasional apex or extra buff. Endless takes more engagement than raids or dungeons

You get rewarded while you do the content for the tree. We used to not even have the tree. It is a net positive.

Also the game rewards investment so I think its fine for new players to see t10 folks talking about all the fun stuff. It was very motivating for me. I wanted to get involved so I worked hard to get there.

Interesting early-game discussion!

Came here to say it might be nice if early tiers had tier-appropriate mat ascension branches, even if they are small ones with different types of mats than would be found in later tiers (stone, wood, bone are great choices!).

It would be nice to be able to upgrade items at lower tiers without running into problems later. Especially nice for those of us with permanently restrained alts that like to make the best lower-tier characters we can make!

Astraltrees has me playing all of my characters more than I have in a long time! Early-tier Orna is so fun!

On the early game note, it would be nice if an ornate item node was accessible at t1. Currently I believe there is no way to spend constellation seeds as a t1.

Quite enjoying the astral trees! Definitely like the quality over quantity approach.

well unless you're doing expless stuff you won't be t1 by the time you get your first constelation seed

Even if doing expless stuff, getting RoRs in t1 is complicated, and you will still not be t1 for very long due to how little the exp requirement is down there

It's such a fun challenge to stay low-levelled long enough to see what kinds of cool items can be found at lower levels for cool builds!

Even if not doing an expless build, it can be a good idea to level intentionally to avoid growing faster than it's possible to gain orns.

That has gotten a lot easier to avoid with followers costing gold instead of orns, but still. One wrong class choice could mean a lot of work to rebuild the orn stockpile and afford the next class or class line.

Not sure I fully understand the question, but equipping two rings of restraint reduces your exp gain significantly so you can stay at low levels for a longer period of time. They are available at shops (rare), they drop from mimics (even more rare) and maaaaybe a quest.

Others can give a much more thorough explanation, but those are some easy basics.

Ring of Restraint also gives small bonuses to orns, luck (item drop), and gold that scale with the quality of the ring of restraint, which makes it a little easier to find good-quality items and gather in-game currencies. It is difficult to find a good quality ring of restraint, though. Lots of RNG luck needed for that.

T1 dont have access to a weekly quest, so they're not really meant to have Const Seeds.

Luck required. I ran three boss horde and got a total of two that day. With two more from running two towers. Given the variety of T10 bosses, and only about 20 faced (levels 16-22) in a T10 horde, that's not unexpected.

Someone mention that from the aspect hatching, you can get 20-25 astral seeds per day.

Is there a limit on seeds got from hatching or ppl can just get it infinitely?

I just realize it's only for new aspect. If it's an upgrade, you don't get the seed.

Also the double astral seed events doesn't double astral seed gotten from the aspect.

How do rewards actually scale?
Both rewards are T10, however the first pic is from a level 230ish account and the second is from a level 250. Do they scale with level?

Also, do they keep scaling in real time or is the value fixed at whatever your tier/level is at the time of reset? I got several levels since when I took the first screenshot but the value didn't change

An Ornate has a 1/200 chance which was a 1/31 chance to be of max stats.

Als the 99% hit cap, random crits, status effect %turntake, avidity, colleteral%, deity tbuff%, PETS, Dungeons have a pool of enemys of which any can be chosen, berserk chance... All i can brainstorm.

It literally is already.

Nothing in this game is real skill, nothing in this game is not random.

If you want a game that has ANYTHING to do with skill, and not just try to find the least random strategy and pray... Oh boy you will not like Orna.

RNG makes sense at times, can be part of skill-based games and can also be a bad game design in certain cases
There's enough to strategize around already, we don't need a number to randomly go from 125k to 10m
It's not the only flaw anyway

Its fun the way it is; but the name of the game is randomness, everything you do is several dicerolls at once and is come up with a build and pray RNG works in your favor.
I wouldnt at all say the astraltrees are more random, if anything, they are less random.

I like them how they are; i kinda wish the demonworking tools wouldnt cost an entire weekly seed as they are definitely not worth it, even at low anguish, but still, its not on a scale i would actively complain about at all

I noticed goals progress reset as well. It's probably because of the change to the new year.

I would guess this is not intentional - sometimes changes in year or time (daylight savings) can break things unexpectedly.
