#Anguish Guild: Repeating Proof Types for Materials

Realm Ore has only been sold for Proofs of Torment recently, at least 5 times already (incl. Jul 25-27 and July 16th).
However, I've seen Silk being sold for Torment on 27/07 and for Melancholy on 28/07, so it's not like materials are strictly "tied" to a certain proof type.

It seems that the issue lies in the materials lists for each day. The lists are very similar to those from Anguish 1.0, but tweaked a bit to include exactly 8 materials per day. The thing is, the order didn't matter then, but it does now. The same position means the same Proof type cost, since we have an order in a guild — first mats are sold for Agony, last — for Torment. And that's exactly what's happening with Realm Ore — it's quite often in the end of the list. It'll probably be sold for Proofs of Torment again on Aug 7th, Aug 28th, and so on (based on Anguish 1.0 lists from Orna Guild Forecast).

So my suggestion is to randomize/balance the order of materials in the lists, so we can actually buy resources with different tokens.

Lists are from the "Orna Guild Forecast" doc.
Realm Ore isn’t always in the 7–8th position, but it often gets pushed there when the lists are extended/tweaked to include 8 mats.

Might be the case with other materials as well, has anyone noticed something similar?

Frankly, I'd love to be able to buy resources with any type of proofs. Maybe a proof conversion system with some losses.
It's really frustrating to see the resource you need, but not be able to buy it, 'cause you mostly do dungeons and raids, and rarely have time for Towers.

I would like it to for a moment, just to have a better view of the recent powercreep issues ^^

Agony is super profitable for time spent so make it take more proofs to buy mats eg instead of 1-1 cort maybe 2-1 proof-cort but for a t1 mat maybe it's 2-10 instead of 1-10. Just different ratios for different content types

Who should I tag here to get a response? We'll probably see Realm Ore for Proofs of Torment in 2 days again, for the 6th time in a row

neither

#

hes saying that its gonna show up for proofs of torment in 2 days

#

meaning and it hasnt shown for any other proof

Yeah, I'm talking only about repeating proof types.
Realm Ore will be sold for other proofs sooner or later, but the proof type frequencies are not balanced. Daily materials lists are based on the ones from Ang 1.0, where the order didn't matter. Now it does - and being at the end of the list means Realm Ore is sold for Torment.

looking at the pattern, does it roll along as "next 8 materials" each day or does it always match the ang1 days mats and just pad out the gap? I notice today's ang2.0 materials include the last two from the previous day in ang1.0, and stops at exactly 8 - does that mean tomorrow we'd expect to see Witchstone, Lightstone, Nightshade, Cavestone, Draconite, Pure Darkstone, Soul, Mandrake, and then the day after Silk & Realm Ore for agony?

Probably the latter, but that's an interesting idea :)

The last 2 from yesterday's list are Titanuim and Perfect Runestone. Titanium was in the shop yesterday as well, as far as I know, and Perfect Runestone is not being sold now (there's just Runestone instead). Honestly, I'm not sure what the algorithm for longer lists is, but I think more common materials are usually excluded from longer lists.

It's Aug 7th in my timezone and the list for today is:
Elstone, Mandrake, Silk, Realm Ore, Draconite, Pure Darkstone, Soul, Baldur.

Ang 1.0 list was: Draconite, Pure Darkstone, Soul, Mandrake, Silk, Realm Ore

Seems like 2 materials were added and the list is shuffled 🤔

Funny how it's not shuffled 'much', doesn't quite feel random yet, will be interesting to see tomorrow.
Wonder if the code under the hood uses a seed that creates a random deck of all materials, so where he used to get the first random(4-10), he's now always getting exactly 8, and then either genuinely randomising or maybe only cutting the dealt materials to reorder a bit?

(ie, we should probably be recording these for predictability next year)

What if ALL mats were available in a guild shop every day? They just rotated through each guild/proof cost? So no matter what, the material you need is ALWAYS available somewhere. But if you want to use a certain proof for it, then you gotta wait.

# oak knoll Wouldn't it be too OP, especially compared to other guilds? Already suggested e...

You've still got to farm the materials, which is where the grind should be imo?

The old system avg'd 7.5 materials a day rather than 2/day per currency - if the new one listed 7.5 materials each day per currency that'd probably be fine, but I don't know if the store can easily be extended to sell the same item for different currencies at the same time, but plenty ways around that (separate lists, or break up the anguish guild into separate guilds rather than the confusing guilds-within-guilds thing etc).

tldr, give me a way to buy realm ore dammit 😛

The grind will 100% still be there. You can choose to just grind your favorite way and wait for your material to show in the guild/currency of your choice OR you can look through the guilds for the currency you want and grind where ever it's selling that day.

#

I'm tired of the times I look through ALL the guilds and the resource I want that day is not available in ANY of them. 🙁

#

So for your discussion this would make realm ore available, every day, in a various guild/currency.

In a way, this could even be considered a personal daily quest for end gamers. Especially since the daily quests that used to be huge when you first started playing mostly become semi pointless at end game. (Do end gamers Really need/want more gold/xp?)
