#NYX changes discussion

The thief class T9 class "NYX" has received a little rework by changing saboteur into Avidity 1, with a ~10% boost in turns.

Also, it's celestials, had their mechanics not changed at all, making them keep Sabo at the "expense" of having the same passives

In addition to the Nyx celestials. Hercules is, at least in my opinion a VERY weak celestial by the removal of their passive regen, something that all the classes have/can have. There is Life syphon, Ward regen, turn economy of summoners and pet builds!, Yet Nyx Hercules has nothing of that, making it arguably one of the worst T9 classes.

I know there is the "celestial skills for some classes", so I won't touch too much that topic

In my proposal of changes, I'll put 2 different options, one where all the celestials get avidity, and one where they don't.

Proposal of changes:

Nyx Corvus:

  1. Change life syphon 2 for life syphon 1, add avidity 1

  2. Don't make any changes at all, Corvus is actually interesting as it is

Nyx Hercules will have 3 options in my proposal of changes:

  1. Change name to Hercules Dorado, add Mystic feather, add avidity 1 (or 2, but most likely 1 for balance purposes)

  2. Add avidity 2, and life syphon,

  3. Add Ward regen and a passive block chance/mystic feather

I hate my current class soo much that i forgot that i should look for fixes instead of focusing on RS

#

The ability to regen mana on crit was the best thing arcanist had and i miss out on as nyx is a manapotion junky

Nyx completely erased the thief identity you get between Arcanic/ RS

Meanwhile redlining exists in T8 and T10, Nyx be design erases that possibility by adding life syphon

Life syphon is inconsistant

Recharge was not

As a 228 (somewhat recent T10), I totally know how you feel with the class

#

Either way, there needs to be some passive regen to it, or at least defensive options that don't cancel themselves out

Also, everyone seems to forget that without saboteur we lose also the single and double temp down buff. I get that avidity needed to be balanced, but Nyx was never even remotely considered overpowered as far as I know

I lived my t9 life as arcanic mostly. If you play crit as arcanic, which makes sense (well made given the crit boost that was), going nyx means suddenly having to drink loads of mp potions to sustain high mp skills (e.g.: omnistrike3) with the low mp the class gets. The alternative is pavane or some off-hand with volley3, but without suitable equip it is traumatic and often pointless in pvp due to low m1 so I stayed arcanic until RS

I think a celestial variant with recharge would be great to gap Arcanic and RS with consistent play style

I might try it now with RS vs beta Nyx, 1s

#

I might take more than 1s xD

Feel free to try it yourself elf if you want

Smash that cactus, for science. I’m curious because I purposefully avoided using too many assassin jewels because of this

Each jewel gets worse the more you put, so yeab

#

From the small testing I've made, def- procs around 10-15% of the time and def-- procs around 5-10%

#

The difference between the Arcanic one and Nyx, is that if you had on your weapon 2 jewels, being ~20% chance to do def-. You have, a 20% chance each hit, making the average of 5 hits to proc

Meanwhile, with Nyx, being a 10-15%, increasing that by 10%, into 30% total makes it an average of 3.33

Well not as much as I thought, but we are still losing that with saboteur
