Yeah, you're right. I was having a hard time finding the API. Yeah, basically TIC-80 operates totally different from Among Us because everything is on a palette. Yeah, I think the easiest way I could see is ensure that the crewmates are drawn with palette indexes 0-6, the actually modify the palette itself when you draw each one.

Exactly, by replacing just the 8 indexes, you save replacing 32x64=2048 pixels or whatever your sprite size is.

It's very much the same for us in Among Us too. We have huge sprite sheets of like 1024x1024 pixels (with every frame of every sprite) and we could replace each pixel with the right one, but instead we just change the three values and let the render sample the correct value.
