In The Betrayed, he kills his own leader, but he gets mad in Toppat Civil War when Henry abandoned Ellie, saying of how it tarnishes the “toppat name”. It shows Reginald really wants his spot as leader again, which shows his utter satisfaction in The Betrayed throwing Henry off. And also, shooting Henry in the back, so that he was thinking he’d share the same fate as Henry. If he can’t have leader, no one can.

See Reginald is complicated. He literally could’ve thrown Henry off of the rocket, but he saw how good of a leader he was. I assume in Fleeing the Complex, Henry has been away from the Toppat clan for some time, meaning there hasn’t been much of an established leader during his absence. So Reginald thought it’d be in his best interest to get rid of Henry, and take his spot back as leader.
