It seems like I find way more Heart Heal HP pickup items in the first few minutes of a run when my character(s) is/are almost always at full health, so picking up the Heart is a waste.
Perhaps tweak it so that if you're at 100% health, the Heart Heal pickup gives you a brief bonus of some sort for a short period of time.
Maybe like 10-seconds faster-firing, or 10 seconds of faster reloading, something. 🙂 Otherwise, in the first few minutes the Heart Heals rarely serve any purpose, and there's no 'carrot' to go after them on the level.
