I have a gecko who is new, she loves to be handled and genuinely gets stressed when I dont handle her on time, I am being told I am K1lling her for handling her already but shes trying to get out of the tank where I usually handle her. Do I just leave her and keep her stressed because thats what professionals are telling me or do i go my own way to meet her needs?

Nta so, unfortunately the whole 'leos like handling thing' isn't true. Their brains don't work that way, and they tolerate handling at best. You are likely stressing her out MORE with handling, plus with her being new she's already super stressed which is why we don't recommend handling at all during the first week or two.

The coming to the glass thing, likely isn't because she likes being handled. Leos com recognize us by voice, and smell and associate us with food. Sadly it isn't because they love us and want affection time, leos could go their whole lives without being handled and be totally chill with it! The professionals are saying so because of research and evidence backing up these claims, and the visible impact the stress can have on them. Nta ❤️
