My leopard gecko was recently treated for mouth rot. The vet removed the infection, and though there was some bleeding afterward, the emergency hospital confirmed it was normal and stopped it.

She was prescribed:

  • EmerAid for inappetence
  • Metacam (anti-inflammatory)
  • Maxi/Guard Oral Gel (antibacterial)

All are daily treatments. This Friday I’ll be gone from 11am–3am. I normally feed her in the early morning. If I have someone check on her periodically and I time doses properly, would it be safe to attend?

She seems stable now, just stressed. I’ll also confirm with my vet, but wanted to hear others’ experiences.

This sounds like a question for your vet. Follow-up questions for their prescribed care is standard-operating procedure for most vets, so you can just dial them up.

But if you want the opinion of my non-veterinarian ass, you're gonna be completely fine. These kinds of daily treatments in humans are built on the assumption that you're not gonna be nearly consistent on taking it daily. Their estimated efficiency accounts for that. I'd be surprised if leo meds are any different.
