hi! so my leopard gecko has been having some problems shedding but the typical causes of shed problems don't seem to be the case here - her tank humidity is in the 40s, she gets a multivitamin every fourth feeding (calcium and d3 as well obv those just arent relevant rn), she has constant access to a moist humid hide, warm side temp is mid-high 80s, etc. plus, she has no other symptoms of underlying health problems (she eats and drinks well, is very active, poops are normal, vet said she looked great at her last checkup, etc!)
this leads me to believe her soil is the cause. it's a mix specifically made for reptiles like her (josh's frogs desert soil mix i believe?) but it's pretty dry and sandy-textured. i'm not home at the moment (just started sophmore year of college, bringing her up to my dorm next time i go home in a weekish and my dad is caring for her) but i can have a video of what the texture is like sent over to me later
basically tl;dr my substrate dry af and i wanna know how to easily fix it. like obviously putting water in there, but like the specifics. do i just take everything out, dump some water in, mix it up, and throw her back in there? how wet should the substrate be/what should the texture be like after i rehydrate it?
