I was tidying my little guys tank and I got scared since his poop cave was spotless. I gave him a warm bath today and turns out he just chose a different cave for a toilet. I think he’s fine because he’s very happy, energetic, food motivated. He’s chubby but he’s always been and has a white tummy. point is although I’ll keep monitoring him, while I was searching about impaction it seemed like every video and post was advising to remove sand, which makes no sense because when assembling his home every post said to do the substrate mix with the sand and soil, and people have complimented my choice of substrate before. I use a mix of Repti Sand and Repti Soil. He also LOVES to dig! But even the thought of him being impacted is so scary so should I switch to something different such as a mat? I noticed some shorter white poops but I think those are just calcium powder because they were very velvety when crushed. I also noticed strands of the Repti Soil in some poops along with specs of sand.. so how should I go about this and should I be concerned? Here is a pic of the current substrate.

so impaction actually can only be determined by a vet! you would have to take him in for xrays to determine it.

in terms of your substrate. it needs to be mixed a lot more (there shouldn't be any seperation) and also needs to be rehydrated properly as that looks extremely dry. Leos are arid but they aren't void of moisture.

as long as you have up to date proper husbandry he'll be okay! a few things of dirt won't hurt him if everything is correct with husbandry. !guide

I would take a look at the server care guide and compare your current husbandry to it! we keep our guide up to date and backed by scientific data!
