I live in North Georgia (the state) and my parents called me outside to see about this big beetle that crashed into a chair outside. I have no idea what kind of beetle it is but it seems to have some sort of white mites of its underside? Are they harmful to it? It's just chilling on my hand right now and not flying away, so I wonder if something is wrong.

Update: It's getting late so I had to put her down somewhere for the night. I put her on the garbage can since it's close to the trees and there was a fallen mulberry there for her to eat. I feel bad for leaving her out there but I hope she'll be okay by morning.

Beetles usually have mites hitchhiking on them

#

Some of them live on the beetle and eat stuff like other mites

#

Some use the beetle as a taxi to get to places they can’t get to normally

Ah, okay! That's comforting. She was gone by morning so I hope she just flew off somewhere safe happybombi
