Hey guys. I understand calcium sacks can be normal and only indicate a diet change featuring less calcium, but I noticed that my gecko’s calcium sack is almost always full, even when switching up meals. And it is only on the right side. It looks almost overly full
compared to photos I’ve seen online. Is this worth checking out at the vet? thank you

what does your supplement schedule look like?

I used to dust the insects, but I read that apparently the calcium in the dust causes the inflated sacks, so I stopped. (‘: But he should definitely be getting his vitamins. Is there any low calcium powder?

not really, but armpit sacks occur for a variety of reasons. theyre not always caused by calcium. oversupplementing other things like multivitamin and d3 can also cause them, and they can also be seasonal. some leos get it during winter and by spring theyre gone

your leo should have calcium with no d3, calcium with d3, and multivitamin

the worry is that your leo isnt getting enough calcium which can affect bone density, even if the bubbles are presentm they may not even be calcium related

Are they hard or soft to the touch

That is very informative! Because they weren’t really an issue during the summer and fall. it might be a seasonal thing. either way you are absolutely right and I’ll resume dusting the crickets. Thank you!
