Because of the background i have there is a space where the vents are to let air in and my gecko seem to like staying up there i will add that it is a new gecko ive only had her for about a week now and im afraid shes not getting access to the UVB the only time ive seen her come out is at night when the uvb is turned off.

Nqa but she's new and adjusting, probably not too comfortable being out in the open yet. When she is, she'll likely bask or cryptic bask for her uvb needs just fine.
My own shy girl really only basks when no one is around to see it, too
