Hey, reaching out again as I'm starting to get concerned about Zesty's health. He is interested in eating again, which is really nice. The issue I am having now is that when he goes to eat a mealworm, he starts twitching (for lack of a better term) and then spits it out. I'm happy that he's trying to eat, I'm just getting concerned that there might be something wrong at this point. I'm thinking he might be getting some of the substrate in his mouth when he goes to eat the worm, but he won't eat anything in either of the little trays that I've tried to feed him in.

i would try putting a piece of slate down and feed him over that
He’s cute
I'm wondering if my substrate is too dry
he's just shaking the worm lol
you can rehydrate the substrate tho if it seems a little dry
He just shakes it too much and launches it out of his mouth some times?
but that was just him shaking the worm
Ok, he's done it a few times where he'll shake a couple of times
Should I moisten the substrate with a spray bottle or a watering can?
second graphic
yeh you don't want it bone dry :3
I also need to work on improving humidity
having hydrated soil will help that
Rn I'm between 22-26
since i dont see them dusted and not in previously sent images either, remember to be dusting every feeding btw. lots of feeders are extremely high in phosphorus which is partially why we dust- so that calcium isnt stolen from the body since phosphorus requires a certain amount of calcium to be properly metabolized

He was ignoring dusted feeders before, only eating things that weren't dusted, so I made calcium w/o D3 available for him
