Hi all,

I am still doing lots of research before getting a terrarium and getting a leo. At the moment I am looking where to place a terrarium, and I am not sure yet.

I prefer to place the terrarium in my living room, so I can see my future leo as much as possible.

My issue is that the only available place is next to a big window. I am living in The Netherlands, the wheather always sucks over here, but still. I read about that the sun will heat up the terrarium, but is this still happening while using a thermostat?

Also, the sun will only be at this side of the house late in the afternoon, I believe from 17h30 till 19h00. If there are no other issues with placing a terrarium there, I could close the curtons during this time.

Thanks for your input, still looking for other possibilities as well.

I’d keep the curtains closed yeh.

The ambients being heated up by the sun would still happen cus the thermostat isn’t controlling the sun. It would only mess with what it’s controlling to try to keep temperatures correct

Should I be thinking about open or closed windows and too much airflow?

That can mess with temps and humidity as well yep! I do have a window open occasionally in my reptile room if it’s a warmer day but otherwise I keep it closed
