I'm starting a project to convert Athena's (my leo gecko) tank into a bioactive tank I've done research on it but thought to ask here as well wouldn't hurt any tips do's and don'ts

do you have specific questions?

What's a good substrate that's both helpful to plants but also safe in case the gecko gets some in there mouth

#

Also plants I know are succulents, aloe vera plants. And cactuses without any pointy bits on them are good

bioactives use the same sub we recommend for naturalistic. 70/30 soil and sand mix

you can use worm castings as an additive for the plants

the loose sub we recommend can be passed if ingested as long as your heating is up to temp standard and regulated, and you have a good basking surface for your leo.
