Recently got a gecko couple days ago. Been overthinking on something is happening to him or whatever. He’s a baby (4 months old)

1st concern is is he a good size/looks healthy?

2nd Is this poop? If it is why is it white. I’ve been feeding him mealworms for the past 2 days & when i first got him his poop was brown (He went in the container & I never fed him until the next day)

3rd I’ve been researching rven more than i was and found out red lights during the night isnt the best for them & i should keep it dark. My room gets extremely cold during the night (68-71 maybe lower) I’m going to get a heat pad for the tank next week whenever I get the money.

Is it okay if i leave it on for the time being to not have him freeze?

Thank you & sorry for the bulk of text. New at owning a reptile as a pet so I don’t want to do anything wrong for the poor guy.

Hey! I would take a look at the server care guide! It’s got a lot of good up to date care information that will help you with your little guy that’s backed by scientific data. !guide

As long as it does not drop below 65 in the tank at night you do not need a heat source. And heat pads are inefficient heat sources anyways so that’s not what you would use in the scenario you do need night time heating. (This is covered more in the guide.)

He looks a little younger than 4 months old as well :0 but for a young gecko they look fine

Def give the guide a read though as there are things that need to be changed about your tank in those pics
