Hello,

I recently acquired a leo (22nd March) , called him Sigmund. Picture attached

At the moment I've held him once which was after he allowed me to. This was a few days back. He's seemed to dote on me a little then but I can't say for sure.

The other day I scared him as he was out basking and almost ready to shed I came in through my door and obviously that scared the little guy.

Finally he has shed which was yesterday and I was trying to feed him (which he didn't eat anything) and he got scared as I had to lift up his hide to grab the uneaten roaches.

After all of this, I feel like i've lowed my rapport with Sigmund and am wondering for a small guide to just get him to dote on me a little more going forward. As I'm trying my best not to scare him and take care of him.

Many Thanks!

there isn’t really a guide on how to get him to be used to you more if thats what you mean since i have like no clue what rapport means lmao

um but just choice based handling if you want him to be more used to you. you shouldn’t be handling them for two weeks after you get them anyways. they need time to adjust to their new homes so please refrain from trying to touch him for now. :) but after that, you could start putting your hand in the cage and letting him smell you or walk up to you, only pick him up if he walks onto you hands IF its for a non medical reason. nqa

I hope I haven't messed up his settling in period. I'll try and leave him for sometime before trying again.

i dont think you have, i had to take out my gecko like once a week to switch out his paper towel in his quarantine period and he was overall fine with it, i just left him alone for a while afterwards :3 he should be okay
