Im just curious how other people have trained their leos to eat from tongs, and wondering if anyone has any advice on how to do it. The new baby leo will gobble up feeders if they're in his food dish, but the moment its in tongs its like the bugs don't even exist. Same goes for dropping feeders next to him.

I just offered it to Haku and made sure it was wriggling. She won’t take it if it isn’t moving.

#

Also it takes a few seconds for her to notice or react to it, so maybe be a bit patient! Sometimes I’m holding the think for like 20 seconds until she “locks on” to it 😂

Pffff, god I love that. Leopard geckos need 3 to 5 buisness days to process a thought

I grabbed my roaches and try and act like they are moving and then soon enough he was eating without having to do that

Update: my lil baby panthera just accepted a mealworm from tongs!!

#

Now to just get the lil guy to fully accept that hands won't eat him lmfao

#

In panthera's defense, he has only screamed at my hand once this week and has willingly walked over my hand resting on the floor of his tank twice

Update two: I think tong training might be going too well because for the past two days ive woken up in the morning to find that he's left exactly 3 mealworms in his dish and is sitting there staring at me expectancy?? The moment I pick of the mealworms he happily takes them from the tongs, but like??? Is this normal?? HorrifiedLaugh
