#does nutrition play a role in a Leo’s color vibrancy?

Haku used to be very brightly colored and somewhat close to a orangish yellow. As he got older he started looking idk dirty? It is all the time so it isn’t just before a shed. It’s hard to show in pictures since pictures don’t capture color well, but I don’t know if it’s because he’s only eaten crickets for a long time or if they just get less vibrant. He’s about 4 and I don’t see him shed very often at all which is another concern? Again sorry for all the questions

A lot of things can factor into his color. Nutrition, supplementation, proper heating, uvb, etc.

Ok so once I get him that uvb and introduce more feeders he may brighten up again? I also just learned they bask (old group told me they don’t, so not to bother having a basking spot) and that they actually need a warmer hot end than I had, so I increased the temp on his Che and am getting him uvb+halogen lamps. I am also fixing the supplement situation so I guess it is completely my fault 😅. At least I’m learning now and improving my husbandry!!

But proper supplementation is also very important.

Yeah I was going to fix the supplementation anyway bc I want him to be happy and healthy!! But that would be cool if it brightened him up. If not and it’s just how he grew, that’s fine. I love my geck no matter his colors 🥹
