#Gecko keeps licking her eye?

My gecko just recently shed and she had a bit of a rough time from the looks of her toes since I forgot to give her fresh moss. I've noticed that since she shed, she's been licking her right eye every so often, and only that one. It looks perfectly fine from what I can see with no cloudiness, but she's acting like she's having trouble seeing her food when I feed her.

I tried looking up the issue, and it says the problem may be that she didn't shed an eye cap properly? I didn't think leopard geckos had eye caps since they have eyelids, but could that be the issue? If it is, would soaking her help?

I don't believe leopard geckos get eye caps for the reasons you mentioned (I could be wrong though!), but sometimes if they have a bad shed the skin can fall into their eye and irritate them, or they can have trouble shedding around the eyes. I'd try to inspect her eye closer and see if there's anything irritating her there. Eye issues require a vet though, they are too sensitive for the regular keeper to mess with so if any strange behavior persists I'd look into getting a !vet appointment.

To your last question, I don't know if soaking would help, but if you're having trouble getting stuck shed off the toes a sauna (#helpful-resources message) could definitely help loosen that skin up.

Alright, thank you so much!! Last time she was to the vet it was an hour or so trip, so what would be the best way to transport her? It was years ago so I literally just put her entire tank in the car since it was just a 20 gal with paper towels lmfao Should I get some of those emergency heat pack things or would that be too hot? It's averaging around 86-90 degree weather here in Georgia

Critter carriers, the little plastic carriers you can get at pet stores work well for transport! As long as your car isn't going below 65 degrees F you don't need a heat pack
